Great ending - subtle, nice characters too!

Yet another fine short story of the old West! Old Louis would stir in envy if he were still with us.<p>

But, darn it, I wouldn't mind if you took a few more pages, filled in a few more answers, had your hero fight a few more villains...not to mention maybe finding out where those additional freckles were!

On his best day Louis L'Amour could not have bested this story by one word, phrase or addition - the flavor of the Old West lives and breathes out of these words. You create!!!

This is a great little story, such a joy to read. Not over written with two very interesting characters. Bravos.

Great story telling. Your stile of writing does bring back many memories of western stories that I read growing up. Nice that Cassie was fisty but caring. Sure wish there were more stories by you, but thanks for the ones you did write.

Others comments have favorably compared this to works by Zane Grey and Louie Lamour. Ridiculous! I'd stretch this to a 3* and would look further for stories.
