No doubt you are talented writer. I read through both parts and enjoyed much of your skill to create a plot and odd characters. Odd? Well, yes. They seemed so emotionless about everything, so stiff-upper lip in their approach to what happened and what was happening. Yes, Herb and Georgina had been wrong to use their obvious loneliness to have sex and comfort each other. But their spouses seem to think that they had not contributed to the problem even after admitting all the DUMB things they had done. I suppose the adultery some how out weighs their unloving and tactless behavior before they left, and the exceedingly long time they were gone, having left their spouses vulnerable and admittedly horny was I think the phrase used. You told us that the wronged spouses were upset but did not actually SHOW us their emotions. And they certainly did their time with each other and boy did they get EVEN. Or did they? Their passion seemed lacking in both the area of the sex they exchanged and in their feelings for their spouses. "Herb, hurt me." Really? And you had done what for the marriage in that time before you left and the time your were gone and the time you came back. "OH, Georgina. How could you?" Seems simple to me. You abandon someone, leave them fragile and needy and why are you angry if they screw up. Of couse they cheated, because you left them no alternative. And then of course another wrong is supposed to make a right. What was that? 9 Times? Yes they sinned badly and did on purpose and did it with each other and not with strangers. They gave each other what their absent spouses were not willing to do: be their. Oh, of course. The jobs were more important than they were. The work and the money were of more value than a little time and effort for the marriage. A quiet, dignified divorce would have been by far the better solution, but Georgina was a foolish woman with Herb and a foolish woman with the narrator. And what did he do to repair his mistakes in the relationship, to help her feel better, and healed and a woman who was desired and loved. Did he stop to think about that as he did exactly what she had done in an emotional moment: had sex with his friends spouse. You were to good of a writer. I felt more sympathy for Georgina and Herb than I did for the other two. If I were Herbs ghost, I would not have forgiven her. Ah, well. Just ranting late at night at a story that is both marvelously confusing and raises great questions about what motivates people to cheat. HMMMMMMMMMM1?

I was disappointed that Georgina and Janet didn't get to have a three way with Clifford. With Clifford and Janet doing one of their 9 revenge fucks in Clifford's bed, and then have Georgina join them. They could have had a reconciliation of their friendship while fucking each other.Both of the cheated partners forgiving the cheater. I don't think I have ever read another story on this site where the guy is defending his cheating wife. The ending did not live up to what I had hoped. I am always a fan of reconciliation, but I feel you needed more development of the wife character. She did not come across as remorseful. You wrote some remorse in there, but it was not believable.

Nice story. Many other writers could take a leaf from book to notice the way the story flows and how you brought the story to a logical and graceful conclusion.

There are many men that do not seem to care that much about their wives fidelity. They do not seem to be all that concerned about STD's, pregnancy, raising another man's child, ect. Every time a spouse cheats; those are the possible outcomes and the cheater knows it. Aside from the possible physical results, there are the very real emotional results. When you have a best friend, business partner, lover: Spouse - you emotionally invest yourself in that most special relationship. When that spouse takes years of that investment and shows it disrespect, indifference, and breaks the rules of that relationship - that special relationship is no longer special, it is dead. Some of the above men mentioned do not, or cannot accept that the marriage is over. They go into denial. They want to forgive, make everything better and return to that special relationship. The trouble is, they can never do that. First, she just proved that she does not love him by her indifference. Second, her lies prove that she has no respect for him and he can never trust her again. Third, the very nature of cheating is about power, she can not be a partner when she wants to take control, not share. It is over, accept it, move on, find a better partner.

3 stars - mostly because it looked like the author was following some kind of arranged script, or maybe the standard RAAC. Either way, it did not look like there were a whole lot of sincere feelings expressed and it was a bit flat.

I think there was nothing wrong with some of it, the helping the friend after a loss even if the medicine was his penor, forgiving the wife for her mistakes, but what I thought was wrong was how easy the forgiveness was and how they excused their cheating. The wife and Herb banged because they were lonely and mad, that is a poor excuse to say the least. The fact the husband and Janet forgive it so easily bothered me. Not a terrible story just I felt some of it was not great.

One expression of love is to accept the flaws, missteps, sins, of your partner and remain committed to living together. Not talking about either deliberate disrespect or malicious intent. The author has given us reason to believe that that hasn't happened here. Could the mc have reacted with divorce? Yes. Could he honorably react by freeing himself from her sin by forgiving her? Yes, and he could have then divorced her. Could he accept her adultery and decide to remain in a relationship with her? Yes. And I am glad that he did. Sometimes loves is remaining true to the long haul.

I have mixed reactions: Good writing (composition), sex sessions quite erotically descriptive, good transition from character-to-character perspectives but not so much what should have been MC's initial rage at wife's infidelity or his final decisions re his wife's adultery.

And so far as the psychology for reconciliation I just don't buy it.
