Thank you ...

... for the sweet story, for telling it wonderfully, for finding original turns of phrases, for the great cast of characters, and for reposting. I am going to spend some more time with you now.

last three lines

Tootsail222, the last three lines are from Greek mythology. The Fates weavings determine human lives and lifespans. These types of myths are common among all peoples who spin and card and weave cloth. Before writing it was common to record stories, heroic deeds, tales of the ancestors with woven cloth. The Inca Empire used cord, knotted in binary code, to keep their records.

Unfortunately, only a fraction of that work survives the ages. Most of 'Herstory' was allowed to rot away or burned by raiders. Many associations of women would conceal their communications in secret languages including embroidery, quilting, decorative ribbons, knotting (before buttons), and so on. Even flower arrangements, fans, handmirrors, jewelry, hairstyles, all were used as signaling devices too subtle for males to deign to notice.

I think that my favorite part, aside from Janice being bisexual, was his son and her daughter falling for each other just like their parents. The fact that Harriet and Sally are sisters was extremely cool too. 😎

I felt like this was a 4.5 story because there were lots of occasions when things were just really too contrived. But I still rounded up to 5/5 anyway.
