Click hereBut inevitably, over the years, almost everyone from those times that I have chronicled here has aged and died. I told their children the inspirational stories about their brave and heroic parents, but by the time the grandchildren and great grandchildren were around the kids just weren't interested in what they saw as ancient history. The world moved on when I didn't, and eventually it all became too much for me and I sank into the bottom of a bottle. I was famous and wealthy, so it was all too easy. My people brought me drinks and I would get drunk. Of course, the sex never stopped even when I was at my lowest point. My curative capabilities and my legendary size and performance simply meant that I spent countless drunken nights fucking some girl who had decided that I was what she needed, even if I was as pissed as a maggot.
But even that had to stop, and I finally manned up, sobered up, and took stock. I have done everything that I can think of to do, I have learned everything that I can find to learn and I have become extremely jaded. I briefly thought about suicide, but I cannot do that to the legend of Josh Scabbard. It is not his way. So, I found something else instead.
There is one small dark corner of the universe, known as Area 251 Sigma, which has never been explored by any of the species that we currently know. No craft that has gone there has ever returned. It is so far away that even with our current drive technology it is still a trip that would take about ten generations of normal human life before we could even reach the edge of it.
Tomorrow morning, at ten o'clock I will take the helm of the Mayflower Planet, and along with two thousand amazingly brave humans as well as the same number of other species we will take our portable planet out to the unknown, out to Area 251 Sigma.
Mankind must explore.

Anonymousover 6 years agogood read. Thanks. My only comment is at times the sex seemed to be forced into the story, not a part of the flow of the story. The sex also got alittle to predictable, almost like you were getting bored writing it.
bb1212almost 7 years agoAuthorHi, and thanks to everyone who has read, voted and commented on this series. I thought I would throw in replies for some of the comments on this chapter. With the pregnancy issue I thought I had explained that, but reading back briefly I can't find it, so maybe I never got it in there. The immortal YW survivors had a side effect that they could never conceive children. For Leenysman I have to put my hand up and accept that my 'in story' science should have been better researched for feasability and I did make some fundamental mistakes. Apologies for that. For Annamaria208 the answer is I have no idea. My twisted imagination never warns me about what is coming next. I don't like being tied down to such long pieces as my mind invariably wants to do something different long before the first piece is complete, but who knows what the future holds.
