Abuse and manipulation are upsetting topics and SSL has laid out what it can be like to be trapped, threatened, and helpless. The part of me that finds escape when reading stories in this site is grateful for the plot balancing characters and what I hope amounts to a giant dose of Karma for the bullies.

Reading a good story makes one anxious in waiting where it all leads too. Like your hooked and come back often. It was worth the wait.
