This story really makes me wish even more that i had realized when I was young that I was gay. I had been married twice. I am not proud of it, but I cheated on both of them often. I now know that I was looking for something no woman could give me. When I was 48 I sucked cock for the first time. It dawned on me that I had been gay all my life and just didn't know it.

Firstly, thank you taking the time to not only read, but leave a comment on my first erotic attempt. And as cliche and sometimes untrue as it may sound and be, better late than never.

I'm happy you finally got here, however the journey to "here"was, you're here and that's what matters.

If only

I knew I was gay from a very early age but fought it hoping to eventually have a wife and family. I had several lovers and unfortunately hurt them as I couldn't accept myself I regret that deeply. At the age of 25 I met a wonderful man, Michael and we had 31 years together before he moved on. I still love him and miss him. True love never dies.

Lovely story and I hope it gives courage to those who are sitting on the fence. Xx

Thank you, Anonymous

It's a sad truth; we were born into a society not designed for our inclusion, so we do as we are taught.we hate ourselves for the things we cannot change, until we don't want to change them anymore.

You shared so many beautiful years with Michael, celebrating something beautiful and living your truth. It gives those of us still searching some hope. Thank you.

Sweet

One question: how was he his grandfather if he was alone his whole life?

MalevolentBardMalevolentBardover 7 years agoAuthor
Good question anonymous

My maternal grandmother had a gay brother. He never had any children, but we called him our grandfather.

He all but raised my mother and uncles, which meant he was an important part of our lives growing up.

I hope that answers your question.

What's next?

It's a good story...but it is an eighteen year old's story. Lots of romance, lots of angst, lots of...dealing with "personal issues." Nothing wrong with that--I enjoyed it, and I'm very curious to see what you write next.

Malevolent, I just reread your story and saw that you had left a comment for me. I am the guy who didn't know he wash gay until he was 48. I really appreciated your message. Thank you.

Just a bit confused

How do you have a grandfather if he was never with anybody? He had to have fathered one of your parents.

MalevolentBardMalevolentBardover 7 years agoAuthor
Hey HornyKip

A previous comment touched on this as well. My maternal grandmother (who gave birth to my mother) had a gay brother. We call him our grandfather, because he's family and for all intents and purposes...he is our grandfather.

I hope this helps.

Touching

Wow, this was a such a sweet and heart touching story, beautifully written. What you said is so true, society and people you are around seem to define what love is, and how it should be, and that there's only a certain way to love that everyone should conform to. This made me cry, I think about it a lot of the time, what my life will be like later on. Sharing and having a home with that special woman I hope to have in my life someday, cooking for her and having candlelight dinners, just having someone to talk to each day about what you both are feeling, going out together, everything. I really loved this, thanking you for sharing your wonderful talent with us and hope to see more touching stories like this in the near future. Dannielle

Not to get off the subject, but...

How does he know the rings will fit? They're not universal. Ya know?

Second read was as good as the first

When I was looking at my profile, I noticed that I had favorited this story quite some time ago. I decided to refresh my memory and read it again. My only disappointment is that you haven't written published any more stories. Truly a 5 star story and truly a love story. The magic mirror was a little on the fantastic side but hey a little enchantment never hurts.

I. Am. Shook

I can’t remember the last time I read something so well described. You captured everything I look for in a story and more, I seriously hope you have more work to read in the future.

thank you!

Having read about Robert and Andrew and Aaron, I simply had to seek out what else you had written. Am I glad I did, since so much of it speaks to my situation (I'm closer in age to your 'grandfather' than to you, by the way). You have a way of putting into words feelings that are universal, no matter what our orientation. Brilliant, you are!

I am more than happy to wait two years if that's how long it takes for you to produce yet another literary masterpiece. May the Muses surround you!

Thank you so much

Gybbs, thank you for the kind words (I hope it doesn't take two years before inspiration strikes again). I hope these stories bring a little light into your life and i hope to continue providing it with more.

Beautiful!!

I wasn’t looking for a gay story when I came here, but however I do appreciate good romance stories regardless of the sexual orientation of the characters.

You write beautifully and after reading about Aaron and Andrew, I had to look you up to see ehat else you had written. Please do some more stories, you are in the same caliber as the guy who wrote the Notebook! Good luck in all you do!

Both of your stories are so moving. It has been awhile since I truly felt something while reading (I read a lot, most of which is not erotica). I was not expecting to find something like this on here, but I'm glad I did. I'm thankful to you for writing two phenomenal pieces. As the person put below, "I am shook." I dont know if you're a writer but I hope you are or that you'd consider it. Your writing feels like taking the birds eye view into someones life. I can really envision the characters and setting, as well as, feel the emotions portrayed. Thanks again. Best wishes to you
