As compelling as BDSM erotica can be, I have always had problems with resolving the contradictions, within my own mind in actual practice. I'm just vanilla, through and through.

However you have written a most succinct definition between acceptable and unacceptable Real World play. That there must be an emotional bonding, a mutual acceptance of one another's person, between a dom and sub. Or otherwise it is just abuse by the strong against the weak.

and this is based on 30+ years as a Leatherman and a slave. The vast majority of Masters and Mistresses are loving caring people that show their love and respect of the slaves they own. Are there times when they are harsh? Well of course they are. Can they be cruel? Most definitely! And it really depends on what is going on at the time.
