Only issue is in both stories was the presence of the lycra clothing. In post-apocalyptic world, most of the tech described is medieval level, to what could be easily manufactured locally. That makes sense, and local resources of minerals being key to independence and possible expansion. Of course, you don't go into details on how much trade goes on, nor if some places still have better tech. The story depends on the lycra, so I will assume there is a source of the material and the dyes needed, and that Taraath is a secondary or tertiary city.
