Maybe you should have Googled Med school. You would have found that it is four years long. Internship is a year and residency two to seven years depending on speciality. Without at least an internship, he would be unemployable. These days, those physicians who fail to complete a residency are not admitted by insurance panels. That's poison for getting a job. Also, it is rare for the career track for Nurse Practitioner aligns with the path to physician. It wastes way too much time. Finally, there are a plethora of diagnostic skills that even mighty Google cannot instill. Ol' Willie would have been lost and quickly exposed. All that being said, it was an amusing story and I wish that good-hearted rogues like your Willie had a chance to become doctors. We can always use a good doctor. 4 stars.
