I think the princes should have their whore's nipples or labia ringed to mark her status as a slave/whore before she leaves for home. Under "medieval" clothing, they'd be easy to hide, but a constant reminder of her status as property -- and the handmaid could use them to keep the princess in line, dominating her more and more as the story continues.
