Slightly confused

Good imagry with a unique voice. I definately did believe in the storyteller's gender.

I guess because I had a hard time connecting to the author's voice, I didn't like this story much. I couldn't find what the story really intended to do, it was as if the begining of establishing characters was just tacked on because the reader needed something to establish context.

I was also confused by the double meaning of 'mistress', as I hadn't checked if this was a BDSM story. Should have checked that first.

Confusion

Perhaps a lot of your confusion is because the word "mistress" may have a slightly different meaning in England from that of the USA. You would have called her a School Principal, but in England the Head Teacher is called a "Headmaster" or a "Headmistress".OK?

Also

In addition to the comment below, a "Mistress" in England does not necessarily perform BDSM. It is the word used to describe a man's lover who is not his wife, and usually he is married to someone else. Most English monarchs have had "mistresses" and in France it is almost the norm, if one were to believe politicians there.

I liked the desription of underwear

As THORILLA, a newish writer I am picking up tips from other authors and enjoyed your description of the woman sitting on her heels displaying her wears. This has to be the best position/pose for turning 'chaps' on in my experience. My former husband could never take his eyes off me when I was squatting in a skirt wearing heels, in fact he deliberately caught me up in long conversations to make sure I stayed in position. Naturally I knew what he was up to. Please keep writing. Elysette

You lost me early in the bar conversation, when she's described as leaning "even close to me" (it should be "closer"); & then dialogue which mixes a statement & question as though they are the same thing.
