Such a difference between 'first contact' and 'full contact.' Arresting, earthy descriptions, lovely effort.

nobody who studies off an on for 25 years is a brown belt. The longest art is BJJ and that takes (according to the internet) about 10 years. (I call bull on that one....I have know many who got one in less than half the time).

Fun the karate is a new angle for me not saying I could match it, but then I can give johno nearly 20 years, I enjoy classical music whilst I read and there are some beautiful ladies to fire my imagination even further. 5 stars.

Really enjoyed it. Sexy and realistic. One thought though. While I appreciate your knowledge on the subject, using the Japanese terms for the moves leaves the reader scratching their head. Spinning back kick, I get. Terrific work, great descriptions, and a very sexy lady.

This was a fun one. Getting into sports would surely be more worthwhile if stakes were like these :-)

Thanks all for the comments. With Jen's timeframe, I did take a bit of artistic licence, but it's not impossible for someone to take this long to grade, particularly with a long break between stints. For the record, the style of karate I practise will not let you become a black belt in under ten years except in exceptional circumstances.
