Why is it that people who try to " hire a hitman" usually end up hiring a cop. I'll admit that this was a little different, in that she tried to hire an employee of the intended target, but this story was a waste of my time. Not very erotic

Stupid, useless, bad story

Why did she want him dead? Why was his reaction so very over the top? What's the backstory with these people?

Well, that ending way too soon even for the evening. There is so much more that could be done before she is taken away by the slave folks. Too bad we will not find out what happens as the beginning was way hot. All of the author's stories are the same...great beginning then nothing.

This was an extreme version, of a common theme. The wifey wants out of the marriage, and thinks she has more control than she does. Why, or how, does not really matter. She overestimated her control on him. And trying to kill him, and assume take his money, was her downfall. What a twist of fate for her, that he works in human trafficking. Say goodbye to your coolio puta, in a Mexican whorehouse!
