Because he makes you feel unsettled, leaves you wanting with his unexpected appearances. I thought of the police song minor key version by Chase Holfelder while reading this (https://youtu.be/0PLNsymQi3Y). I caught myself holding my breath and then felt lost when he would disappear. I wanted him to stay, I wanted him to want me. Yes, I got caught up by this story that it still haunts me in a most delicious way. Kudos to the author, when in reading they make you feel/live the story. Thank you for that.

Without broader context, it is just like the song, basic stalker 101 behavior. I feel the unease and inherent threat, but not any of the comforting protection I feel necessary for a D/s relationship. Someone else's flavor; not my cuppa.
