First Bridget turned her head to kiss the palm of Sian's hand, and then she lifted her body so that she could do the same thing to Sian's lips. Their kiss was exploratory as if they hadn't kissed before and were just discovering what it was like. When they broke apart, it was Bridget who now caressed Sian's face.

"Are you okay, my darling Sian?" she asked. Her concern about how Sian was handling the situation could be heard in her voice.

Knowing that Bridget understood went a long way to reassure Sian. She nodded. "You made me feel wonderful, Bridge. How could I not be okay?" Even if she wasn't completely okay, she didn't want to say it.

Bridget just looked into her eyes, trying to read her girlfriend's feelings. Finally she brushed her lips against Sian's. "I love you, Sian," she said with passion in her voice. "Just know that."

"I do, Baby," Sian said as she put her arms around Bridget and gave her a hug. With her head on Bridget's shoulder, Sian noticed that Don was missing. She looked around and realized he must have gone into the bedroom. Whether he was giving them some privacy or he just needed to go to the bathroom, Sian appreciated the time alone with Bridget. She hugged her again. It was comforting to hold her girlfriend without Don there to remind Sian that Bridget wasn't hers alone.

It didn't last long. Sian heard Don coming back into the room. He had on his robe, closed loosely around him. In one hand he had robes for both women and in the other a towel. Both of them looked at him as he came close.

"I thought you might like these," Don said with a smile. Though it was hard to look at Bridget without also looking at Sian's body, he did his best. Once again Sian was struck with the thought that despite it all, he was a pretty good guy. He understood that this had been difficult for her and he was trying to help make her comfortable as much as he could.

"That is very thoughtful, Don," Sian said.

Bridget got a very pleased smile on her face. When the two of most important people in her life were getting along it made her very happy. She stood up so that Sian could slip on her robe. "Thank you, Sweetie," she told Don and she gave him a kiss on the cheek. She patted at her pussy and legs before she put on her robe. Bridget would feel better about sitting on Sian's lap for a little cuddling if she cleaned herself up first. It didn't take long before she too was wearing her robe.

Don reached over and took the towel from Bridget's hand. He gave the two of them a little smile. "I'm going to go into the bedroom. I'll see you later?" he said with a little question in his voice at the end.

After first looking at Sian, Bridget smiled and nodded. "I think so. Thanks for giving us a little time." She took her place in Sian's lap and put her arms around Sian's neck. Bridget felt her heart beat a little faster as Sian's arms went around her and held her close. "Just being next to her excites me," Bridget thought. "Had it ever been that way with Don?" she wondered. It didn't seem like it to her.

Turning to face Sian, Bridget gave her a kiss that Sian quickly returned. For a few minutes, they were both lost in the kisses. There was both passion and love in the way they were kissing. Their hands stroked and wandered across their bodies in soft caresses as their kiss continued. Finally it slowed down and with deep contented sighs, they stopped and just rested against each other. They were quiet.

After a while, Bridget stirred and looked at Sian. "Darling, do you want to do anything more tonight? I will if you want but I am just as happy to go to sleep. It is up to you. I'm not sure if Don is up for another round. I kind of don't think so, but he would enjoy watching if you still want to make love some more."

Sian put her head against Bridget's chest and didn't say anything right away. Eventually she spoke without looking up at Bridget. She felt tested by the situation and didn't want to say the wrong thing. "I'm okay, Bridge. Don't take this wrong, but after he came in you ... I just don't think I can." Now she looked Bridget in the face. "You excite me so much and you made me cum very hard and I wish I felt like doing that to you right now, but I don't." Sian was surprised to feel like she was close to crying.

"Shhh," Bridget said comfortingly. She kissed Sian just under each eye before finishing with a light kiss on the lips. "It's okay. I understand. I thought you would feel that way but I wanted you to have the option." She thought for a moment. "Are you still okay with the three of us sleeping together in our bed?" The two of them had talked about sleeping arrangements earlier in the week. At the time Sian had felt that as long as Bridget was in the middle, it would be okay for the three of them to share a bed. "We can always kick Don out and into the spare bedroom," Bridget added.

"I think I am okay with it," Sian said in a quiet voice.

"How about we go in and the three of us take a shower together. Three will fit fine in there." Bridget smiled, "Although we have never tested that before." Sian smiled back as Bridget continued. "But we will just clean up, maybe a little kissing but nothing more. Then we can go to sleep feeling and smelling fresh."

"I think that would be nice. It would help me to sleep, especially not smelling it," Sian said, looking embarrassed. Girl sex had a particular smell; one that Sian liked. That was something she couldn't say about straight sex. Even showering with Don was preferable, and Sian admitted to herself that with how considerate Don had been, he was unlikely to do anything that bothered her.

"Okay, let's go get Don off the bed before he stinks it up," Bridget joked. Sian couldn't help but giggle. They stood up and walked hand in hand to the bedroom.

So inconsiderate

She offered to kick Don out and make him sleep in the spare bedroom. The nerve of her. Why couldn't they sleep there if they wanted to be alone? And Bridget needs to stop pretending as if she didn't want to do this. She started hitting on Sian immediately. It was good to see him stand up for himself a little. I hope he takes this L with some dignity.

why ? because...

Major, you asked the pertinent question, why is Bridget continuing a troubled marriage. I think there are two equally valid and equally contradictory answers. First that Bridget had vowed the married union with Don and is unwilling to totally disavow that union without further erosion of their emotional bonds.

The second answer to 'Why?" is 'because'. Just because, not a reason but an avoidance of reasoning. i.e. "I drank that bottle of bourbon and wildly drove my car, crashing headlong into a van of children, because." Just because. For all our puffery about being an intelligent species, we spend a whole lot of our time and effort into avoiding thinking.

..."Who am I kidding?" she thought. "I would do anything for her. I'm going to give in, just like I always have." She sighed. A little bit of her disliked that willingness to give in for Bridget. Like always, Sian reminded herself that she went into this with her eyes wide open....

This paragraph does not bode well for the future of Sian and Bridget building a long-term relationship. Both parties have to agree to the same fundamental terms and share the hardwork needed to create a successful marriage. Both have to feel that they are sharing equally in the benefits of being partners.

This is how it's done, people.

I am so enjoying this well-written story. I check back every day to see if there are updates. The FF stuff in it is hot, of course, but I also appreciate the high-stakes angle in that real emotions are at stake for all three of them. I think Don's a tool for setting all this up. Still, I just wonder if it's possible that he doesn't end up as the big loser here. His proximity to Sian is going to continue, and it just might mess with her head and her sexuality.

Good writing but ...

It's kind of disturbing that this obvious lesbian is keeping up the pretense of being married to a man. Why?
