Therefore they are a waste of writing and reading time!

I think a lot of the stories on this website require the reader to suspend their disbelief for a brief moment. If you cannot do this, I suggest you stick to reading the back of cornflake boxes. It's just a short story, not a directive from the European Parliament! I realise I'm not a £100 note and that not everyone will like my stuff. Thanks for taking the time to write a comment. DLB
