This is a very important first story in the Danny/Charmaine saga, which has within it many stories. Danny in this story is obviously crushed by the loss of his girlfriend to another guy, and this helps to explain his character in for future stories. His tumultuous relationships with women after this event are better understood if Leslie's Demise is read first.
