The first part did make one wonder why any teacher would fail to check the door. Finally showing it as his dream sequence was well done. The second portion requires the reader to accept that the lonely divorced needy teacher knows beyond a doubt of that everyone in this school leaves leaves immediately, except for the janitor who is occupied outside.

Perhaps high schools and teachers have changed so much in more than 50 years since the famous general reminded people that old solderers never die they just fade away. This story certainly is good enough to make the reader look at other stories by this author. Thank You
