So, Sean had a reservation that he cancelled without any notice to me. I wondered where he finally ended up and decided to play his game. I went back to the table and the three of us left. Carol wanted to know my plans and I told her I wanted to stay at her place for a while and suggested that Judy join us for some cards. They both agreed and we all headed to Carol's place. When we got there, JJ was sound asleep and I just let him sleep as he was while we got some cards and Carol produced some wine. We had a small impromptu party that lasted till well past 2:00 in the morning.

I was more than pleased when the phone rang sometime after 12:00: Carol got up to look at the caller ID and told me it was Sean. I shook my head no and she just shrugged and came back to the game. Neither Judy nor Carol even commented on my reasons and they forgot it as we were enjoying our time together. At just past 2:00, we decided to break up and Carol took JJ and me back home.

As I entered the house by the front door, I saw the light in the den still on. I quietly looked in to see Sean asleep on the couch. Since JJ was sound asleep, I went past and on upstairs to put JJ down in his own bed. I undressed and climbed into my own bed and fell asleep almost immediately. I slept well until my usual time of 6:30, just before JJ woke.

JJ and I were in the kitchen, he eating his breakfast and me sitting there with coffee when Sean walked in. He was obviously confused and angry. I greeted him and he started in on me, wanting to know where I was last night and why I hadn't let him know where I was. We argued back and forth for a while until he finally gave up and went upstairs to dress and I tried to decide how to play this.

I was not going to confront him until later since we both wanted to spare JJ any arguments in front of him. I had things that needed doing and Sean kept out of my way for the better part of the day. In this way, we spent Saturday.

Sean

By evening, I had calmed down enough to enjoy dinner with Sunny and JJ. Sunny seemed to be over her attack mode and I had brought myself back under control. I finally told her that I had dinner at Caesar's last night with my clients and that we had just talked too long and I got home much later than I had planned. She just nodded and thanked me for telling her where I had been.

Since I had finally told her a lie about my whereabouts, I wondered for the tenth time if I really wanted to push her absence last night considering that I was the one that had trespassed into forbidden territory. I would wait and see what the evening brought.

Sunny put JJ down for his nap just after dinner and she went out onto the porch to watch the sun set and drink a cup of tea. I waited for a short time and then followed. I sat down on the glider facing her. I watched her face for any reaction but was disappointed when she just glanced at me and then looked back at the trees bordering our yard. She was not going to continue with her interrogation it seemed. Well then, I guess I might risk a question or two.

"Can I ask again where you were last night? I'm sorry for being angry but I was really concerned when I came home and found both of you gone. You can understand that can't you?"

She looked at me for a second before answering. I hoped that my reasonable question would allow us to make some headway into a discussion of responsibility.

"I was having dinner with Carol and Judy last night. JJ was with Carol's niece at her place. Is that all right with you?"

"Of course. Where did you have dinner?"

"Caesar's. You know the place. It's where you have a lot of your so-called client dinner meetings. It's where you told me you went last night. Funny we didn't see you there."

"What do you mean, so called? I often eat there with clients. You can even ask Phyllis, the receptionist. She knows me. I was there earlier in the evening and we left to go to a bar downtown. That's why I missed you, I guess."

"Well, actually I did talk to Phyllis. She said you had a reservation there last night that you cancelled at the last minute. She said you left the bar at about seven or so with a woman she thought was your 'client'. A very beautiful client by the way."

Now she was watching me, and she had a serious expression on her face. She had me in a lie and now I had to be very careful of what I said.

"It was a client and she decided that she wanted to go somewhere else. We left and had dinner at another restaurant. I just said Caesar's since that is where I met her and had reservations."

"Funny that you told me you were going out last night with the guys you were with Tuesday when you came home with perfume and lipstick. Want to try again?"

Now I had made two mistakes. I didn't see how I was going to get out of this except by attacking.

"Well, it seems that you are trying to make this worse than it really is just to try to make your night out seem more innocent. I didn't tell you it was a woman because you would take it just like you are. It was strictly business."

"I can guess your business. It seems like you decided to pay me back for what you think I did. Well, I guess you succeeded. I guess you paid me back. I guess now we're even?"

"What are you talking about? I just had dinner and a few drinks with a client. How does that make us even?"

"Well, all I did was have dinner and a few drinks with a consultant. Doesn't that make us even? Isn't that just what you told me you did?"

She was smiling now and I knew she believed that I had cheated on her. She was now on solid ground and I was left wondering just what she had really done. I couldn't confess and I now understood why she hadn't either. Where the hell did that leave me?

"I don't think so. I didn't cheat on you but I think you cheated on me. I just don't know how to prove it."

"Gee, Sean, I have the same problem. I think you cheated on me but I don't know how to prove it either. But wait, you must have gone to dinner somewhere else last night. Why don't you tell me where and I'll just check. How about that?"

What the hell did I do now? I didn't go to any restaurant and she knew it. She wanted me to pick a place and if I made one up, I could well be caught in my own lies. It was time to back down and try to reorganize.

"We didn't have reservations because we just grabbed a burger at a bar downtown. She wasn't into a fancy restaurant so we just went casual. That's all it was. Just a casual drink with a client that happens to be a beautiful woman. But she is just a client and I don't mix business with pleasure. You know that."

"Fine. While we are on the subject, tell me her name and I'll give Janie a call. She can tell me all about your beautiful client. Janie will at least be honest with me. And by the way, you called Carol's place at 12:00 last night but I told Carol not to answer. Right?"

"Yes, I called there trying to find you and JJ. I even called your mother but she just laughed at me. That must make you very happy."

"Not particularly. I wouldn't tell Mom the stupid things you have been saying about my 'affair' and me. She would have a fit and I would never hear the end of it. She would want me to move out immediately. Which I may do anyway if you don't start being honest with me."

"How about you being honest with me. Want to start now?"

"OK, Sean. I will say this. If I did the same thing you did, I didn't plan it like you did. How about that?"

"What the hell is that supposed to mean? What did you do?"

"Just what you did."

"What do you think I did?"

"The same thing you think I did."

This was going nowhere. If I admitted what I did, she would confirm that she did what I thought she did. But she was right. I did what I did on purpose and in full control of my facilities. She claimed that she didn't plan it. What did that mean?

"So you admit to having an affair?"

"If that's what you had, yes."

"That's not an answer. Did you or didn't you sleep with another man?"

"If you admit you slept with another woman, I'll admit that I slept with another man. But if you say you didn't, then neither did I. So, you see Sean, it is up to you. If you want the truth from me, then you have to start by telling me the truth. That's the way it's going to be."

"Well it seems to me that you have admitted to having an affair. I think that's what you just said. Tell me I'm wrong."

"It's up to you. If you want to believe I had an affair, I'll tell you I had an affair, but you won't know if I am lying. All you have to do is tell me the truth about your fling with your beautiful client."

"Did you or didn't you. That's all you need to say and we can forget it ever happened. Is that fair or not?"

"No it's not fair. You aren't free to accuse me of something and then you go and do what you accuse me of just to get even with me. No, that's not fair and it's not right. If you think I did something wrong, that gives you no right to do it too. You're the lawyer, figure it out for yourself."

By this time, the sun had begun to set and it was starting to get chilly. Sunny got up and walked into the house, leaving me sitting there confused and angry. I had no idea of how to get out of this. I know that I was wrong. I had cheated on Sunny and, worse, I had set out to do just that. If what Sunny was trying to tell me was that she had cheated on me but apparently not intentionally, I didn't know what that meant and the only way I was ever going to know was to admit to her that I had cheated with a hooker. A beautiful and expensive hooker, yes, but a hooker non the less.

As I watched the sun disappear, I finally knew in my heart what I had to do. With a sigh, I rose and went into the kitchen where Sunny was sitting with a warm cup of coffee. I walked over to the stove and poured myself a cup. I joined my wife at the table and faced her.

"Whatever you did, I believe you had no plans to hurt me or our family. Whatever I did, I had no plans to hurt you or our family. If that's true for both of us, and we are both sorry, we should be able to forgive each other. Do you agree?"

Sunny looked at me very seriously for a moment. I think she was trying to see if there was a catch to what I had just said. Apparently she decided there was no catch so she suddenly smiled.

"I agree. I forgive you."

"And I forgive you."

We sat there looking at each other and Sunny finally stood up. She looked at me with a loving smile.

"JJ will be asleep for another hour or so. Want to take a shower with me? I think we should give that another try."

"Sounds good to me. Let's go."

We ran upstairs like a couple of teenagers and she was stripped and into the shower just ahead of me. We got the water going just right, the flow washing over both of us and she turned her back to me. I put my hand in the middle of her back, forcing her down with her hands on the floor. I admired the wonderful ass in front of me and I was already hard. I moved toward her and I took my fully erect cock and I slid it into her waiting sex. She was already wet with passion and she took me without flinching. I buried myself fully in her and it was wonderful. I hesitated, fearing that my humiliation would recur, but I was fine. With a sigh, I began to pump into her love tunnel and the feeling was ecstatic. I leaned over her and reached around to cup her breasts while I moved in and out with a strong, full stroke. My pace increased as my pleasure began to peak.

As I felt my climax building, I gently slapped her butt and she immediately rose up to put her hands on the shower wall while pushing back against me as I pushed into her. As I pumped faster and faster, I could hear the sound of flesh slapping against flesh and I knew somehow that no one else had ever heard that sound or felt this pleasure with Sunny. Whatever had happened, this was ours. This was for her and I and no one else was ever going to be a part of this. I pulled her tightly against me as I felt my fluids coursing through my cock and Sunny let out a muffled scream as she came with me. We joined together in ecstasy, so full and complete that I knew nothing else mattered except Sunny and I.

Neither of us ever mentioned that time in our lives again. We both accepted that we made some mistakes but we moved past it and accepted that we had never meant to do anything that would destroy our family. It is now the day before our 35th wedding anniversary and we both feel that our life has been perfect. We love each other and we have loved each other for all our marriage.

Sometimes, I think of Satin with fondness. I really believe she was smart enough to have figured out that this would be the result of what she did for me that night. I think she knew that the only way I was going to forgive Sunny was if I made the same mistake.

She was right.
