I'm really annoyed that the vines didn't do anything to Don. Other than that I'm really liking this series.

I get that objection. I was trying to do something clever here, something of an allegory of rape culture, but in retrospect I don't think it worked, and I think I should have done things differently, including having Don violated as well.
