Like the commenter before me, I found myself teary eyed, too. As a 57 year old male, it's rather unusual for me to become so emotionally involved in a fictional story, but this touched me on many levels. The historical references enhanced my enjoyment considerably. Well done.

There are some excellent stories on Literotica about genies and wishes, but you were able to do the near-impossible - come up with a fresh approach on such stories. You write wonderfully well - your characters are fully developed and you let your readers get to know them and care about them. Your various scenes are written well and realistically, and your dialogue is very well written. The thoughts and emotions of your characters are very well presented. I've read hundreds (thousands?) of stories (Literotica and elsewhere) and this is one of my all-time favorites. Thanks for sharing your caring writing and I very much look forward to any future story you desire to share.

I absolutely loved this unique story. Great mixture of emotions from grief and fear to humor and love. I really enjoyed the character development; Marcus' struggle between what he'd always been and what he could become was quite moving. Bravo!

I don't usually read the longer stories in one sitting; my daughter doesn't let me! But this was worth the deal I made with her that I would build her a Lincoln Log library after I was done reading. :-) Very romantic. Very well described. The characters were realistic and likeable and, though I was hoping the parents would wake up and not die, I understand why you wrote it that way. It made a lot of sense. I loved, simply loved!, this story! From the moment Marcus popped out

of the bottle and Julie receiving him with confusion and friendliness

I knew it was going to be special. I like the slow start, with Marcus

starting out as obedient, and Julie as hesitant and desiring for

equality, not wishing for anything. The subplot with her parents also

lent a tender touch to the story. Then the love unfolded, with Julie

gently caring for Marcus, and the happy conclusion I was hoping

for.
