Err this one seems out of place compared to the other stories in the series

And I find that I prefer to hear more about Cadence since she's a fun character, even when she's not the main subject of the story. Seeing only a mere mention of her in this story was rather disappointing.

Briar seems a bit boring in comparison and Mark seems to have lost his thunder in this one. Not to mention, this feels like it's going to have a continuation related to the Purple Haze which I think would've been better off concluded all in one go in this story. Writing a sequel to something that sounds so inconsequential seems rather redundant at this point, given the way you've written the other stories.
