A great storyline that could use a couple of more chapters.

What would happen if the husband was caught cheating on his wife, and decided to leave her for a younger woman. That would make her free to fuck her son all of the time.

Michael should have been told about his real father and what he had done to his mother. Likewise, Melissa should have asked her son to explain he was no different than his father. Finally, once he slapped his mother, oneway or anothe he should have left forever, either by walking out the door or leaving in a box.
