Metamorphosis - Lamia Strain

"Oh."

Her arms swung around me and she pulled me into a sweet hug. I was still amazed at how soft her scales were while they brushed over my own. After a moment or two, she allowed me to gently pry her away to create some distance.

"My brother..." I said, once again worried about the consequences of our actions.

"What about your brother?" she asked, confused.

"Ummm your father he... My brother has a checkered past. He made some bad decisions when he was younger. Mr. Seymore found out about it and threatened to unseal his records if I didn't comply to his wishes." I avoided eye contact as I wasn't sure how she would take this information, despite what she said last night.

"Fuck him. I have half a mind to hypnotize him into thinking he's a giant baby."

"Is that what happened to me last night? I hypnotized you?"

"Yeah. Just the once. And it was really hot." She said, a little odd and cagey about it.

That's not suspicious at all.

"How many times have you hypnotized me? Izzy."

"...Three. No. Four, if you count that last one. Although it seems like I can't make anything really stick anymore. Now that the changes are complete."

"Make things stick? You weren't doing weird things to me were you?"

"Define weird."

Pursing my lips, I gave her the look that told her I wasn't buying her bullshit.

"i told you to love me," she mumbled.

"What was that?"

"I Told You To Love Me," she enunciated, each word fear in her eyes.

"Well? Did it work?"

She looked incredulous before giving me the sly smile. "That's the funny slash frustrating thing. It didn't do anything. Took me forever to figure out what it meant."

"Ha. I could've told you that," I said smugly

"Would you have?" she asked me with an askance look.

Eeerrrp.

"Uhhhh. No. Probably not."

"I'm still pissed at my dad for keeping you from me for so long. Maybe we should have you make him think he's a giant baby."

"Why giant baby?"

"Trust me in that he would absolutely hate it." I chuckled at the imagery.

"I'll have to take you word for it. We'll have to talk about the future later but for now I can't resist doing-" I kissed her. "This. A few dozen more times."
Two days later, the world as we knew it irrevocably changed, making any plans we made moot.

But that's a story for another time.
