Mothers and Daughters Ch. 32

Despite the apparent closeness of the overall vote it was obvious to everyone that Vera and Natasha were the clear leaders and would win the contest. After all if Vera/Natasha could induce Jack Straw and Karen Schlagel, considered two of the least exciting sexual members, to provide hot sexual activity then there was no hope for the rest of the competitors. The rest of the scheduled bed-mates for Vera and Natasha were known to be desirable enthusiastic sexual partners.

There were two anomalies in the voting. Chloe Hamilton had the reputation of being the most sexual female in the club; although Vera was almost regarded as an equal. Thus her pair was expected to be a contender. However the scoring for them was disappointing and the reason was obvious. Likewise when his team watched Pamela and Hannah the score was 23 as he awarded a 3; he felt Pamela/Hannah were a tad less exciting than Kristina/Vickie. Then after watching Sally and Beverley, and having awarded a score of 3, he was shocked to see the score of 9 posted. For such a score to be possible, two of his team mates would have had to have voted 1 and the other two would have had to have voted 2.

Considering that his team mates had consistently voted 5s in the previous rounds, and although Sally/Beverley were arguably not as exciting a pair as the three leading pairs still he believed his team mates would not lower their votes so drastically.

Jack then polled his team mates and found that two of them gave Beverley/Sally 5s and the other two gave them 4s, so that Beverley/Sally's true score was 21. Jack then went to Charlotte Thornton with this information. Charlotte then consulted Kristina Vargas and the contest was suspended pending a short investigation.

It was soon discovered that the two staff members Ivan Croft and Stella Street would randomly tabulate and post the scores of each pair on the appropriate chalk boards. However Croft took it upon himself to exclusively tend to the scoring of the pair of Sally and Beverley.

Croft admitted to posting false voting results to ensure that Sally and Beverley would not be the winning pair. Asked why he acted so inappropriately: Croft replied that he believed Beverley constantly taunted him as a staff member, and was engineering to have him dismissed. He asserted that Beverley was still offended that while he was popular in high school he had ignored and slighted her. He confessed that he wanted to get revenge on Beverley for her unreasonable mistreatment of him during the times they were mutually on TLR premises.

Asked for her viewpoint Beverley answered:

"It is true that Ivan Croft and I attended the same high school in Dallas. It is also true that he was very popular and he ignored me, which was not a problem for me. However it is euphemistic of him to say he slighted me. He and two of his buddies totally humiliated me. As I was a virgin I eagerly accepted an invitation for sex.
