Patcharapa Chaichurea, Aum, in shorts and a t-shirt, hair wrapped in a scarf, and an apron around her waist, manning one of the stoves. Busy cooking and chatting with the women who seemed to naturally gravitate to her. Everyone in awe of the famous actress who had put on an apron and pitched in to help.
Nang and I gave her a hug.
"What you doing here?" Nang asked.
"I hear of bad storm and much damage. Then I remember you say you from Phang-nga. So I come to help."
It's a pity you haven't taken it past the infatuation stage, and I'd be a little happier if the Asian characters' English skills weren't all the same. But I was looking for stories set in Thailand after weeks of researching Thai singers, and this is far more convincing and less stereotyped than most, *plus* it's crazy sweet. Applause!
