All Comments on 'No Way Honey __ Ellie'

If you are going to write about life. Make your male characters act like men. Is this how you would react to this situation? No real protest, just put your tail between your legs and leave. No argument about being humiliated in front of the entire world. Just another wimp. Change the formula of your stories as the males are all the same. Low self esteem, no back bone, cuckolds who seem to either enjoy it or don't think they are being abused.

<p>this is a good and unusual tale. First it's a new story -- most LW stories on this site are rehashes of many other stories --- only the names have been changed.</p>

<p>This one throws in new concepts and makes them work. The concept that the husband is a wimp merely because he said nothing is just inane. The previous poster apparently has only one option in his mind under such circumstances: violence. </p>

<p>But this husband had another method: hoist her on her own petard and then disappear.</p>

Yes I can see tears of sorrows point of view but i can also see Bullets point of view. My view is that the first night he should have left her. No if,buts or maybe's. My other point is that such a couple should not really be married. I am like the husband I don't like famous people, I have no wish to meet a famous person or even someone who thinks their famous. I once went to a concert and James Hetfield of Metallic-it was thier concert- walked into me as I was getting a drink at the bar. All my friends with me seemed amazed I didnt ask for something from him. I didn't because I really like his bands music but I don't know the man. I would never go to a VIP backstage party what is the point of that apart from inflating so-called 'stars' egos. So I really do feel for the husband. I also feel sorry for the wife, why would somebody do something so stupid just to get in the papers and become famous? Anyway well written story and keep up with this series I like it.

although I'm much like GW66. I've been around a few celebrities and while a couple have been decent to talk to, I really don't want to have much to do with them. They just aren't that interesting. And I'd have a major problem with a wife who was openly lusting after celebrities every day like Jan was.

No, she is a selfish amoral celebrity seeker who is more concerned about getting her name correct in the paper as she is about to commit adultery than what it will do to her marriage. Where most women would have been morified that her infidelity was exposed to the world she revels that it will make her famous!<P>

Bill takes reasonable actions in a timely manner. The morning after she admits to being unfaithful he has cleared out all their assets and leaves. Exactly what else was he supposed to do? Beat up 13 footballers? Then he goes follow his dream. Works for me.<P>

And after she, and her friends, pulled a gangbang, I was kinda curious what happened to their home life, as well as Ellie. I mean if they are so attractive, it's not like they couldn't have found other "star" boyfriends to hang with later. Not to pick on Heather Locklear, but she's kinda worked her way though most of the American heavy metal bands she could. Ellie's character kinda struck me as being the same type of groupie. It's not really a "unhappy" ending for her, since her marriage didn't really mean that much to her. Not saying I expected an unhappy ending, but its more of a "you life is changing, your choice on where it goes" ending for Ellie" and her husband really didn't settle anything other than running away and leaving her on her own. And its suggested that at least one other husband did the same.</p>

I liked this story and the concept of the "No Way..." series so far. I think that it is good, clean and simple writing that is entertaining for the reader. There is no reason to over analyze too much when the flaws of the characters, like the groupie wife in this story, are almost comical. More power to the husband. Sailing around on a yacht for a living can't be all bad. Who really cares about the ex-wife. Like someone said in one of the other comments, if she has that kind of a body she'll probably hook up with a few more celebs before she's through. I hope that the stories keep coming from Britease.

I think that some of the posters here miss the point about this character leaving: there is simply no point in talking or trying to explain anything to his wife — she is one of the self-focused narcissists, who is really indifferent to anything other than her own obsession. The only thing that's too bad is not knowing whether she even regrets being a public fool. But leaving things to the readers imagination is part of Britease's charm!

it would seem my first post did not settle well with a few of you. i shall endeavour to explain without starting a flame war. I agree with GW66 in that the first solid indication(ie the first night) I would have been out of there. There are circumstances in which I would advocate violence. Only in one defense. I prefer quick decision that includes ostracism and return of public humiliation on the cheater. The slut in this piece would not understand the lose of her husband. Nor would she understand the lose of all her possessions. But the lose of her friends and family is another thing entirely. I would have given evidence to all her friends husbands and to her entire family. And I would have walked away taking everything that would not nailed down. See no violence and no waiting to see if, as the male character did, she would do it again. Britease is a good writer in that he can put pen to page. His male characters tend to the wimpy side and most do not act like males at all. And that was my point.

A very enjoyable read. I didn't think he was wimpy at all. I think he knew the first dight that it was over. He had no proof that she did go to bed with the celeb, but he had strong suspicions. The second night he knew as she admitted it. He did the only thing I would have done, and followed his dream. And I'm not a wimp!

I must admit I would have liked to have found out how Ellie faired after. I suspect that other commenters are correct, she probably didn't understand why he was being 'difficult'.

"You can't please all of the people all of the time" BUT I think you have captured most of us. There are so few decent authors actively writing good tales of cheating wives. You are a welcome addition.

At least he did something rational. Bimbos such as his wife are at all conventions, conferences, and big charity events. In most cases they are paid for their services, but very often they are single or married women who get off by screwing someone they consider famous, as if that changed them from being worthless sluts. Many of them wind up being gangbanged for much longer than your charming whores in the story. Open ended stories seem to be a fashion on lit, but unfortunately they smack of a writer who has a story concept but is unable to bring it to a conclusion and think being open ended is cute. Who cares what happens to Ellie and her friends. Their possible pregnancies, STDs, and AIDS, are not what one wants to read about. I really wonder about a husband and wife that have nothing to do on a Friday night. Until we had kids, my wife and I always had something to do on Friday and Saturday nights and many times had to find a way to determine which things to actually do.

After I finished, I went back to the beginning and reread the description of the woman as smart,intelligent. I thought what a set-up. Maybe she had a degree, but she lacked wit - in the old sense of the term - and common sense. I would also suggest that she lacked love or she would never have behaved in the self-centered and selfish manner that she did. I suspect you do not want to do this, but I have to admitt, I am really curious what the hell was she thinking. Is there a story from her point of view after this or is it just to obvious? I would love to know what she did also when she finally realized her loving husband was never returning and he had skipped with their cash. Maybe I am little sadistic, but if this is a get back at the wife story, I would love to see her get it.

This story had an ending and a taunt. I, for one, don't much like taunts. So, I'll make this deal. I won't read any more of your stories and I won't vote or comment on them either. You show real promise as a writer but two bad habits are enough for this reader.

I couldn't tell what direction the story was going with Giselle and the "shops." Thought that was a good touch. Nice to have a non-cream-pie-eating rational man as protagonist.

It seemed to me that the husband hadn't enough after the first night and needed even more humilation. Sorry, that's not my kind of stuff, and I nearly decided to put the story down as just another "wimp story". He finally left her, but he should have gotten some kind of revenge, especially for the humilation he had to deal with in public.

Creates a bit of a stir for 3 months. Show gets cancelled; she's off to plastic surgeon to ' pump up the bumps'. One breast comes out perfect unfortontunately a nerve is severed and 2nd one takes permanent rest on tummy requiring lifelong subscription to support bra catalogs . Suffers thru bad collagen lip injection and winds up resembling sea bass.

Elle then gets pittance in settlement check and invests it all in Oxycontin...not the the stock, the pills. Finally lands meager role as Tara Reid's older sister on cable sitcom and lives semi-infamously ever after.

Are the women really that stupid in the uk? I dated a few in my younger years, three from London, one from Manchester and one from Liverpool. They were all super intelligent, had a code of ethics that would make a marine proud, and absolutely were of the belief that infidelity is a crime that should carry a punishment of burning the adulterous people at the stake. But the way they are portrayed here seems like swinging and open marriage was invented there.

As for the story, you really need to finish them.

Your protagonist has already taken action in each one, and it leaves me thinking oh you characters post story for a longer time than I actually spent reading the story! Why was the "football" star described as being black? Obviously it was designed to antagonize the reader. The ethnicity of the soccer player supposedly made no difference as long as he was excelling at his sport. Even to the point of the tv interviewer making sure to bring in the woman for all the tv land viewers to see she was white and on full display as to what they would be doing to end the night.

My point is the world in general is racist. Yes, some areas worst than others.

Almost every single story that this particular British idiot author comes up with features a husband who is Who is filled with rage and fury when he discovers what his wife has been doing. But then when she comes home there's never any actual confrontation. Usually we have a husband who's on the phone or trying to convince the wife not to do something by mumbling incoherent babble and incomplete Sentences.

Go back and take a look at many of this particular author's stories and you'll see a consistent theme of the husband sputtering outrage stun by the wives actions and somehow never actually conveys How the wife's behavior is completely un Acceptable.

Surely there must be somebody in the United Kingdom these days who can actually make a coherent sentence and tell the wife in no one certain terms that if she proceeds to become a slut and a whore the marriage is going to end.

Go & be a slut & I won't be here." When she does go, as one knows she will, he does that financial stuff & then leaves.
