Click hereAs I was about to leave she just burst into tears again but I got the feeling they were just for the girls benefit. Sophie and Ava looked at me and raised their eyebrows, they knew.
"See you next weekend dad," Ava said as I walked to the door.
I walked back into the room as Holly continued sobbing and nobody paying any attention to her. I suddenly realised what Ava was talking about.
"Oh yeah the Coldplay gig, everyone is looking forward to it."
"Will we be meeting you guys in London or shall we travel together?" Sophie asked.
"I'll speak to Amy and let you know in the week," I said finally before leaving.
As I walked out the door I heard Holly shouting something but I chose to ignore it and left.

desecration1 day agoThis story always strikes me as perfect. Man who is strong gets drained of blood by the parasites around him, so lets them over-extend themselves and then pulls out the support structure. The house of cards comes tumbling down. Then he moves on and completely cuts the insanity out of his life. It goes on to do what insanity always does, which is self-destruct. What more vengeance do you need? The law of Talion is retaliation, not some great moral rebalancing. She hurt him, he hurt her, and now she knows not to fuck with him.
onecuriousreader20 days agothe emotional trauma growing up with human beings who don't attack the body, but the psyche, really stood out to me, in this story. made me think of all the men who wind up in female led relationships with women they love despite the disrespect, dishonored and humiliation they get in return, and to point out how it starts in a man's childhood where his mother's aunts and sisters grow up poisoning the well of a young man's soul to be accepting of shame and spite for not being man enough, really speaks to why there are so many men with pathetic lives today, and why the suicide rate is so high among men.
chasbo38about 2 months agoI doubt any man would put up with a wife who was cheating as long as he did. Once the girls were out of the house he would have dumped her ASAP.
