Great character development. Rapid fire jumping from multiple characters can be confusing -- particularly with no transitions.

What happened to Tiffany? She goes from happy beach bunny and indifferent student to dead trigger for Britney's mental collapse in less than three years? You kill off more characters than Wes Craven. Nobody's end of high school/early college years are that tragic unless they live in Somalia

Britney is a dangerous, delusional person at the beginning of this story. What she does to those teen girls is sexual battery at least. The idea that none of them would have hemorrhaged and ended up in the hospital at least, or ran out into the road screaming is so very unlikely I think most readers would dismiss it out of hand.

I get the substitution of these girls for her lost Mary. That's what makes her delusional, whether on some level she knows they aren't Mary or not. She still hurts them. Criminally abuses them.

Britney needed a shrink, or time in a treatment facility or both. Not some "screw the world" triumphant born-again lesbian relationship with Chin-Li.

Actually, I think, Britney's recovery after the rape, in the original series, was poorly done. Rape victims,generally, have deep rooted scars.

So, in a way, 'The Monster Britney' is a natural outcome . However, a long therapy session before the happy ending with Chin Li would have been better.

Hell, even Chin Li needs a shrink.
