'It was as if that damn Grand Canyon that usually showed up after sex, was going to widen even further and deepen now.' Brad and Derek took a baby step, but it isn't clear in which direction. Derek's goodbye was cold, 'Gotta go my friend.'

Not surprised that Brad's attitude changed. His love for Derek was not being returned and it was time to face it. Wonder if they will have a future together? I still like your writing though.
