So I ask: In what sense does she have any power since all she is permitted to answer to a question from her owners is yes? Given the requirements of her availability it would seem she can’t hold a job, get an education or have friends. It seems that this “relationship” would change only a tiny bit if he were never to see or talk to her again. I cannot understand in what sense this is a relationship as opposed to two people who have some interaction on the infrequent occasions they bump into each other.

Couple of things wrong here. Not complaining about the subject matter, I agree it bears consideration but here's the thing. First off you steal another authors story idea and initial setup but I can forgive that since the idea itself is not original but then you compound and confuse everything by not finishing the story.
