Masterful prose; literature actually. Brings to mind the scene from Brave New World: two caged rats clamped to the prisoners head about to eat his eyes. Yet in this instance it was my soul as well. Is this "Flash"? I'm no fan of flash. This is too long for that--more like a lit cigar searing into my cheek. Maelstrom . . . yeah.
