Not worth the time spent to read it. Violence without rhyme or reason.
This is about control and the power to exercise that control. Yes, it is about violence, but the context defines the ability to exercise such violence. "The ancient rule, the simple plan, that he shall take who has the power, and he shall keep who can."
My only query/complaint about this story is that it's not nearly long enough. If you published this to test the water, fine, Paul. IMHO, a great story - now give us more, lots more!
I do appreciate comments. As a writer, feedback is important for helping focus style. This was actually from a longer piece I was free writing. I would have no problem with revising this and submitting further vignettes in this world.
