It's an original premise, I'll give you that. It seems you went a long way to get to that punch line. You could have told this story in a two or three line joke. Instead, you gave us a lot of details about the end of the world...just to get to that punchline?

There is a lot you could do with this premise, but if you've ever seen the TV show "Last Man on Earth", it's already being done.

I really enjoyed this little story. I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I also think it's telling that one of the brightest, cleverest (and most mean-spirited) writers on this site, amyum, gave it similar high marks. She probably ought to count double.

First, I found the premise of the story depressing and hard to take. No one wants to think of the end of the world. But...and that's a big but, the writing is excellent and you have to give the author an "A" for originality.

Even though I wasn't crazy about the content, this story is well deserved the highest marks I can give. 5 stars all the way!

Now I have to go and search the other stories by this author to see if they are as high as caliber as this.

I don't usually appreciate sci-fi and wasn't looking for it in this story, but it's a great hook and hope there's a part 2. Good description and characters. Limited dialogue was right on the money.

The end of the world? Isn't that the sense of desolation felt when someone's betrayed by their one 'true love'. And so the interloper left the adulterous, and our hero got his just due. Did it happen in some far off post apocalyptic world, no it happens every day.

What did the silly bitch expect?! She never loved him, she said and the asswipe was sooo attentive and she was so in love with the asshole that every other relationship paled in comparison!!! So she had to divorce Anders, after ending Anders' life! Now she could fend for herself! 5*s.

On the minus side: the only other survivor is apparently his ex-wife.

On the plus side, if the slut bitch from Hell survived, there's a good chance others survived as well.

The story still has life in it. Work it.

I'm giving it 4 stars. Would have been 5 if he got in REAL revenge, not just some pithy comment that didn't really hurt the bitch at all. He had a wealth of options. Society is gone. Could have taken her out. Could have hurt her. Could have taken her as a sex slave. Could have traded her with other survivors for food.

But no, he just said a mean thing and for no good reason whatsoever passed up on either real revenge, or some way to improve his situation.

This is one story where more could be better. Lots of potential.

The story is perfect the way it is, any additional writing would have taken away from it.

Had to destroy the world to get there. Not as funny as it would have been before the pandemic, but still 3 stars.

Now, if Jed is still alive out there would Andy hunt him down and kill him?
