Standard Story. Standard plot. Nothing exciting, not even the Burmese python.
There was something sad and dispirited about these two as though they were just going through the motions. Even the sex seemed like more of an obligation than a joyful experience. The whole story seemed like one that a man would tell to somebody he barely knew in a bar.
Some people forget that the stories here aren't necessarily meant to top the one before. We've read them all but each new writer is telling a new tale. For that, it' deserves credit.
I have issues with the owner of a dry cleaners not working Saturday. I've talked to many cleaners. Saturday is cleaning day and requires all hands. What's she doing in a bar on a Saturday afternoon? I had a friend who always said, "suspend disbelief," but that doesn't work all the time. The key to a great story is keep it real and true.
