I admire your deft dialog.

You bring the plot so vibrantly to life by revealing it through conversation. The opening passage where Lara shares the news of the tour is a great example. So much livelier to hear Ryan's reaction than a simple narrative mention.

The dialog emphasis at Ryan's parents' home is more on character development than plot. This time it's Brody who witnesses the characters of Ryan's parents through what they say. I found myself holding my breath, wincing at each slighting remark as it came.

Beautifully done.

Well done

I just love the visuals in your stories. It just draws the reader in, making you feel you are part of the story. I actually felt the tension at her parents home. Lovely story.

You Suck :P

Now I'm going to be thinking about what was in that box and set Ryan off forever! Great story, but you suck with leaving me hanging like that. :D

An OK chapter

Lots going on in this segment, but it seemed pretty much transitional to me. Yeah, I know most chapters transition from one to another, but this one brought out a lot of negative things that could affect their relationship. The tour, his Brothers problems and meeting her family are all negatives that they will have to overcome. Even the time they were together seemed somewhat subdued and overshadowed by problems, but maybe that was just me this morning with no coffee yet?

great chapter even if it ended on a down note

I can not believe how much of an ass that her parents are. I hope she makes it big and flaunts it in their faces. I think Brody and Ryan are going to have a few hurtles to over come and i can not wait ot see what is in the box . excellent chapter and i can not wait for the next

you're FIRED

For leaving us hanging ...unless you post the next chapter real soon. I'm really enjoying the story.

"I saw you with the box… what’s in the fucking box?… tell me what’s in the fucking box!" - Se7en

hahaha sorry I crack myself up sometimes. But that is what this chapter reminded me of.

alright

I thought of the same scene with brad Pitt and what's in the box? that brought a laugh. On a more serious note I don't enjoy negative cliff-hangers. I want to smack both her parents. I hope Brody tells them to cut it out, and then they can work on climbing the other mountains in there relationship. A side note, the climbing mountains story by DG Hear was pretty good. Keep up the good work PennLady please have it end happy... I see the next chapters having some problems between the two.

poor ryan....

I feel so bad for anyone who's parents treat them like a failure when they aren't

don't keep us hanging too long,

This was my favourite chapter so far. Quality writing and great ideas, was nice to hear Brody in the narration. Can't wait for the next installment! Thanks for still writing on here even when your now a paid writer. I have bought and read your hockey e book but sadly can't re-read it my computer ate it :-(

What's In The Box?

No, it's not J. R. Ewing's Stetson and the gun that shot him.

SO much going on here!!!

Like others have said, I want to know what's in the box! I agree with the commenter who suggested it was her awards and achievements. And that just makes me all kinds of sad for Ryan and pissed at her parents. As if I wasn't already pissed at them.

I'm glad Brody got to see them for himself. Hopefully, Ryan makes more sense to him now.

I *may* have gotten more than a little satisfaction from the mention of Nashville in this story. I love my Predators! :) even in a guest role.

The obstacles that are sure to be coming up should be interesting. I can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the story. Great work!

her parents are the worst people ever. she needs to just cut them out of her life until they realize shes also important and its not just her brothers that matter. also brody is a damn moron for not only bringing up the music stuff even though ryan said not to but to also drop the tour bomb

Jeez, let’s hope that PennLady didn’t model the father on anyone real, he is toxic with a capital “T”, and as for “degrees don’t matter”? Education always was wasted on those that already know it all….
