Yeah....couldn't get past the terrible depiction of roller derby at the start of the story. Maybe next time don't do your research by watching the old 70's fake version of the sport.
Have you been to roller derby in the past 15 years? Roller derby bouts are nothing like what you described these day. They're family-friendly events. Also, if you're going to mention that someone is black, then why wouldn't you mention everyone else's skin color?
It's an amazing sport - no headlocks or punches, but fantastic athleticism!
I am flattered that so many hardcore roller derby fans have read my story and been moved by it. A lot of "anonymous" replies have critisized my story for my descriptions of some roller derby matches. They have missed the point. This isn't a Wikipedia page on the rules and regulations of professional roller derby. It is a story of erotic fiction. It's about a love triangle between three women. The roller derby is just a setting, some background colour for the characters. (And its pretty close to the half dozen matches I have gone to watch). It's not however, meant to be typical of all roller derby bouts. It is a sign of a great writer if the writer can invoke emotions from the reader, even hatred or anger so I guess if I upset some readers then I have done my job. MMC
I am a sissy slut who loves to prance around the apartment in nylons, frillies, and stillettos, but I actually came a gusher over this story. That is a high honor for the author. BRAVO!
What a great piece this was, I do hope there's a sequel later on.
This is such a beautifully written story, I am smitten with all the participants. 5*
Such an easy read to go straight through too! I want more.
