All Comments on 'Sea Slimes Ch. 06'

Loving the story as always I jus had a thought or two. I know that you're foreshadowing Snatch and Larya's "break up" we'll call it but I would caution you to be careful about it. I know Snatch is not supposed to be a good guy, at least not outwardly and perhaps not inwardly either but it felt just a smidge overboard here. There's a sort of Moral Event Horizon with these kinds of characters and its a really fine line between gruff "you like him even though he's an ass and that's part of his charm" and "complete asshole who can go die in a fire". I know he has to do something to finally drove Larya away, unless you plan to have them separated by an outside force, but don't make him so hateful that he can't be redeemed. Him bailing on Larya was really really close to that line for me and the fight before it felt less snarky and a bit more hateful too, something about the delivery maybe? I can't pinpoint it for sure.

All that said I did REALLY enjoy it, I've got a soft spot for mermaids and under the sea stories and I adore your stuff, been hanging about from the first chapter of Evergreen and I intend to stick around quite a bit longer. You're the author, not me, nor anyone else that posts here. Feel free to entirely disregard anything I've said because I would hate to limit you and you certainly know way more about where the story and characters are going than I. I just wanted to share some stuff that occurred to me that you might use if you wanted and I will be happily waiting for whatever comes next regardless.

Thanks for the insightful comment, Sothe. You're not imagining things—for all the bickering they have about Larya's libido and Alrek's social bullishness, things are only really meant to get heated when a moral dilemma rears its ugly head.

I really, really appreciate it when I get comments this thoughtful on my stories, and rest assured, I do take it all into account.

Leaving her really felt like that moment when she dumps him, and I didn't like it one bit. I like this Vitriolic Best Buds relationship you've been doing here, and slowly building to that Moral Event Horizon he mentioned. But he's right: you're walking a fine line now. Maybe I'm not being imaginative enough, you can't really raise the bar much more than that.

Also, sorry I'm late to the release. I'm trying to break my porn addiction and prior to tonight I went 15(!) days without it. Back to square 1.

Excellent final chapter to this story though. Can't wait for the epilogue to come out.

Also, am I correct in thinking that there's a hellgate at the bottom of the trench, and it spawned out thousands of sea slimes that want to take over the Ocean? If that's the case, why confine them all to the trench? If I recall correctly, Nerka's eyes are that rosy pink when they first meet, which--if it's not meant to be her natural eye-color and matching the salmon tail--would imply the sea slimes are outside the trench trying to discreetly bring back more hosts. So what's their big play? What are they building toward that Alrek and Larya stumbled into?

The story is far from finished, and the next chapter will clarify where Snatch and Larya are at right now. Each story in their saga, starting with Shifty Characters and ending with the story directly after Unliving Lust, encompasses a specific shift in their relationship. Shifty Characters was about basic moral standards. Wicked Amusement is about cooperation and trust. Unliving Lust was about a certain level of friendship. Sea Slimes? That's about loyalty.

Again, this isn't the final chapter to this story. There's still a couple chapters after this.

On another note, Nerka had turquoise eyes at the start, though I had to double-check to be sure. Is there a hellgate? How many sea slimes are there? What's their play? Stay tuned! After the next chapter of Wicked Amusement, rest assured that a chapter of Sea Slimes is on the way!
