Click hereNow, though, having broken such an extreme boundary of propriety, I was starting to feel this urge to dive into that life for a while, just a little while, just for the time that remained before Jason and I would have to abandon our own lust and return to our accustomed life and family.
When I ventured a few suggestions along that line to Jason, he had some reservations.
"I'm all for that, Mom, as long as you're sure you know why you're doing it," he said.
"I'm not sure what you mean."
"Well, sometimes, I hear, women who have for some reason come to question their own self-respect start doing awful things, at least, awful to themselves, as a kind of self-flagellation. It's kind of like some kinds of depression. I suppose men can do that too, but this sexual variety seems to be a woman thing, sort of.
"I just want to make very sure that you really just want to have a little fun."
"You mean," I said, "you're afraid that our sex has made me think of myself as some kind of degenerate low-life slut, and this is just me living down to my damaged self-image?"
"I just want to make sure that's not it," he replied, very earnestly. "Believe me, I know lots of girls who flash their boobs at rock concerts, even a few who get to New Orleans at Mardi Gras to dive into that whole scene, and more than a few who get a lot wilder than even that, and I think no less of them. Yeah, sure, there are a few who do make it hard to respect them, but they're a whole different kind, the selfish, using kind, the ones who are hard to respect because they do not respect anyone, not even themselves. I don't associate with that kind any longer than I have to.
"But what you're talking about is nothing like that. I just want to be very sure you feel that way yourself, deep down inside you where these wild ideas of yours are really coming from."
I had no trouble with that. "Bless you for caring like that, Son," I replied. "But there's not one iota of question about what I'm talking about. It's just that when I was around your age girls just didn't do those things, which really means that the ones who did didn't admit it. I've just suddenly gotten this itch to see what it's like on the wild side for a little while, while there's time. But I want you with me when I do. I need someone I trust to support me and take care of me."
"Well, then, Mom, I'll be more than honored to be that someone for you," he said with a sweet kiss.
Thus began the era I now call The Decadent Period. I'll be filling you in on the details, or, at least, some of them, in the next chapter.
Now, if you're imagining wild Bacchanalian revels and Jason's mom pulling a train with his entire soccer team, well, cool your engines. Nothing remotely like that happened, and it's pretty sure, never will. But by the standards of my own values, even stretched as they had become, what did happen was radical enough.
And anyway, Jason isn't even on the soccer team.

All those calling other deprave, these are fantasies, not reality. If you cannot differentiate I suggest you look for a shrink and not any stories on this site. Better use your nearest public library for reading materials.
ryu77over 16 years agoThe impression I got from the story is that Linda thinks her husband found out about her affair and let his son film them, and she doesn't know that it was that Jason found out and LATER asked his father about it. That is why I'm waiting how this story will unfold.

That said, though, you seem to be reading a great deal into this that isn't there. Nowhere in this story did the son--nor anyone else, for that matter--worry that the parents were separating. I don't know how you could have gotten that impression. It was a shock to him to discover that his mother was bisexual and that bothered him for a while; that's what he spoke to his father about.

Neither is there anywhere here where Linda thinks Fred put Jason up to the photographic voyeurism. She was very upset that he condoned it, but that's all.

Remember also that most drama, whether written, on stage, in film or television or anything else, deals with human conflicts, including moral conflicts both between and within characters. Linda, as the central character, is most intensely torn between conflicting values, morals and desires, and her behavior at this point in the story reflects that. To avoid disclosing the rest of the story prematurely I'll stop there, other than to say that (1) a story with good moral resolution is not the same as moralizing; I have no intention of making any kind of sermon out of this; and (2) I like happy endings. :-)
Anonymousover 16 years agoIf you were ever abused by your mother than you would never wtite a story like this. I was not sexually abused but physically and emotionally abused and find you story demeaning. You have a kid that was afraid his mother and father were seperating, talks to his father about the situation and than she believes the husband put the son up to taking pictures which is not true after that I only partially read chapter 9 and now the son is a deviant, you must be proud of your writing. Step up and end this.

Sorry, author, this story raises so many questions for me and wanted to wait for the story to finish to ask them, but I can't get into the participants of this play.
Oh boy, is the husband really the last one to find out??

Though I don't agree with a previous posters overall critical assessment, I am curious how you intend to have mom and son deal with dad in the this torrid tale.

Anonymousover 16 years agoThe previous poster should go back and read chapter 7. The lady goes through hell struggling with her feelings about the right and wrong of it. Afterward she tells her friend straight out how she wishes she could find a way to fuck her son and nont hurt her husband. They agree that's not possible and she asks her friend for support fighting temptation even when the friend gives her some tough talk about it.

Later on she loses the battle and gives in to her desire. She tries to keep from thinking about her husband. In this chapter she says how she wants to try some wild ideas while there is time before she and her son have to give up what they're doing, which is when hubby gets back from wherever he is. She wants to make believe she can have her fun now and go back to normal later with no pain or regret. My guess is that the story will go on about how reality sets in someday and how she and everyone else will have to deal with it then. But for sure, if she and her son were as heartless as you say, none of these emotional stresses would be happening.
Anonymousover 16 years agoThe writing is good but the mother and son have zero respect for the husband. They only care about their own base needs while he works to support the family. She should just divorce him so he could can find somebody who respects him. I'm sure the son will have no problem accepting money from dad to go to college. The main characters are so unlikable because they only care about themselves
