I have to admit I'm rather disappointed by this story... No explanations as to what made the stone statues the way they were as well as the princess's slutty (not in the hot way) reaction to him. But also you seem to follow the story of sleeping beauty almost perfectly until you get to the princess. He doesn't even get to train her in the way or a whore like an uncouth knight might, she's just this sex hungry woman lying in wait in an empty castle....

The answer to your issues is in the title "Chapter 1". If you want to know why some things are that way, wait for the story to unfold. As with anything creative, the best time to criticize the ingredients (as opposed to the style), is after you have been presented with the whole work.
