You win!
Yes, I will start putting story problems into my work if that's what I have to do to get comments. Hell, I had a girl deliberately flub a pop culture reference in there, just so someone would "Well, Actually" me, and nobody did!
I think long series like these might have a harder time getting feedback just because people are less inclined to jump in after so many chapters. I only really get 1 comment per 5000 or 10000 views on a story on this site anyhow, and I know literotica's view counts can be a bit wonky, but I think these long series just don't get as many views as shorter stories. Maybe people are just intimidated. In any case, I've noticed that authors who ask for feedback in notes at the tops of their stories tend to receive more comments than those who don't. Maybe try giving that a shot?
Yeah, it's a bit demoralizing. I mean, the most recent short story's gotten over 4000 views, 3 Favorites, and 13 ratings.
The message I get as a writer: Four thousand people read my words. 13 of them had an opinion about them one way or the other, three of them very good ones; however, none strong enough to actually say anything about them.
I posted a story on Furaffinity and here both, recently. Despite it being about humans rather than furries, the FA post received a lot more "interest" by that measure, getting comments from 5 different people other than myself. The post here received comments from 2 people. The story on FA has just under 400 views; the story on here has over 13000 views. So part of that is also just the nature of the userbase here - they're not as inclined to comment unless they're asked to. But also, having more views always increases the odds, and I think people are a lot more likely to open stories without huge chapter numbers next to them.
