Trying to make the Reader one of the participants is a total turn-off because the Reader (or this one at least) knows that they were most certainly NOT involved and therefore all semblance of believability goes straight out of the window!!

I would also like to read the next part.
Spelling in the story is pretty good, but inside subway cars there are "poles", not "polls" (unless perhaps there is a pollster present).
