Rather fascinating and humourous...

Albeit a few parts were a little hard for me to believe. I say so because I'm an RN myself, and a fairly new one at that. And luckily I haven't received any such ribbing from the more experienced nurses. But I did find it interesting to read about healthcare and hospitals from a patient's POV.

Light and entrancing scenes

With this you would almost convince me that my memories of

dreadful moments in emergency rooms were nothing more than nightmares! He was a bit slow on the uptake! I suggest throwing hydrogen peroxide on the black toilet paper to see if it bubble as the quickest to clear up doubts.

Innacurate image of nursing

I've been a nurse going on 20yrs. Things must be a whole lot different if any of this is to be believed.Granted, its only a story, but not even a very good one.I've never seen a new nurse treated that way..and even as a patient, never had a nurse be unprofessional. Might be a nice change.Along with more from the writer about him 'visiting' the nurse for his 'massage'

Missing the point

I think you are missing the point - I've not been in hospitals much, but usually they treat you like a block of fozen hamburger, more fun (and more erotic) this way.

Some Facts

I just have to comment. The medical scenario that I described just happened to me, and I ended up in a local small town emergency room. One thing about this old man is that when I am scared to death I compensate by cracking jokes. Perhaps that got it going, I don't know. Another thing I found out is yes, they all use fake names. The older nurses there were lots of fun, they cracked jokes and wisecracked right back at me, and yes, they teased the ones they called "CNP'S" and the other ones that I think were basically waitresses. It was all in good fun, nothing really happened and I survived nicely. Barb was made to come in using a horrible english accent and ask me to take a leak so she could go home, even better and one I didn't mention was when the one named Sully was told to climb in the shower with me so I "didn't fall". That was hilarious, the look on her face is one I will always remember. There were a lot of jokes surrounding that one, of course she didn't, I got a bed bath from the nurse instead. The bit about teasing barb, that was something I overheard, she put up a bit of a protest outside about that until she realized they were kidding, I added a bit to that. I love it when the almost true stories get panned as not possible, and the ones I make up get received as..normal? Meanwhile, there is more, I will go get busy and write it. I bet nobody will believe that, either. The other part? I hope they are right about it being an ulcer, so I am still in the cracking jokes mode. MGM

Great stuff

Sorry it is based on a true story, but glad you're doing well. When I scan the New section, I always stop to read a new magmaman story. Enjoy them immensely. Stay well. Stay off the fucking cigarettes. Since you're giving things up, try vegan. The best thing after giving up cigs you can do for yourself.
