I really am captured by this story. You do a great job of conveying the emotions of the daemon lord, letting his loss be almost palpable. You also do a great job of bringing vaern and the calming effect she has on him to life. I look forward to more of this story. Is the council you refer to one that all supernatural beings are involved in or just a council for the faeries?

Cool story so far~ I can't wait to see how it all unfolds! :)
