Jerry and Marcy did the introductions as everyone were taking their seats. A few moments later the waiter took their drink orders. Jerry waited until everyone ordered dinner before revealing the dual purpose behind his invitation.

"Folks, I want to thank you all for coming tonight, it means a lot to Marcy and me."

"You didn't give us much choice," Bob interjected, getting a chuckle from everyone.

"You're right, Bob, I guess I didn't, but Marcy and I are hoping this will be a very special night and we wanted to share it with our best friends.

"It's been almost a year since James Shore drugged and kidnapped Marcy. A lot of things have happened since. It's been tough times but we've survived and in some ways, even prospered. Bob, by now everyone knows how we tried to rig the auction so I knew who Marcy would be out with that night. I, personally, know how guilty you feel about what happened; so much so, that it's actually affected our friendship. I won't have that, I want it to stop. You weren't responsible for what happened anymore than you were, Emmy."

Jerry turned his attention to her. "Your friendship with Marcy has been strained in the same way...it stops tonight, both of you! Now, I know...easier said than done. So, if either of you still have a hard time forgiving yourselves, we have a way for both of you to make amends."

Marcy picked up the conversation from there. "As you all know," she said, attracting everyone's attention, "that charity auction was one of victims from the fall out of that night. As it turns out, the actual amount of money that was donated didn't turn out to be that much, but the loss of any money that goes toward Cancer research is a big loss in my book."

"Soooooo," Jerry chimed in again, drawing out the word to grab everyone's attention, "we've come up with a plan to replace that money and hopefully more. If you guys still feel guilty then let's put that guilt to work for charity."

"This sounds exciting," offered Emmy.

"I hope so," Jerry countered. "I've been talking to Terry Hildebrand. He's the pro at Dear's Trail Golf Course where Bob and I play a lot of golf. He talked to the owners of the golf course and they've agreed to donate the course for an entire Sunday. In other words, we hold a charity golf tournament and everything we make, one-hundred percent, goes toward Cancer research. The only thing is, Marcy and I can't do this alone; we need help. That's where you guys come in."

"You can count me in," said Bob immediately.

"Me too," responded Emmy.

"Do you have room for me?" Stan asked.

"Hey, you're not leaving me out," said Susie.

EPILOGUE:

And so the, "Sherry Duncan Foundation," was established. They named it after Marcy's mother. The first year of the charity golf tournament, it brought in almost fifty-thousand dollars. The following year they combined the tourney with a silent auction and the third year, the Titlist Corporation donated a thousand dollar set of golf clubs to be auctioned off. That year the event brought in a total of one hundred thousand dollars, every penny of which, went toward Cancer research.

Bob and Emmy finally lost their feelings of guilt and the six musketeers, as they now called themselves, formed a friendship that would endure a lifetime.

Marcy's new found strength and determination earned her a promotion at work. No one was more proud of her than Jerry, and Marcy made sure he knew how much he was loved and appreciated every day.

One of the interesting side notes that developed from Marcy's horrible experience, was Jerry's trust issues...they no longer existed. When his lovely wife was sent away on a week's training seminar for her new job, never once did a suspicious thought cross his mind. She was his and he was hers.

The End.

I am not a member of Literotica. I feel much of it is not good.

HOWEVER, there are an amazing number of stories that, like this one, have great lessons about dealing with life issues.

This is a powerful story and worth reading.

It's demeaning to a husband and to a marriage for a wife to go on a date of any kind with anyone other than her husband for any reason. Period. End of story.

Those drugs are detectable by their metabolites in the urine for many days. Like 3-4 days for X and longer for R (or.maybe vice versa, I forget). Just pointing it out, because many LW authors shorten the time frame so they become "undetectable" for thr sake of the story. Just like many LW authors have their cheating wives ignore plan B pills. Regardless well written and suspenseful story. Married people should not participate in these auction date events. Just.my personal opinion. 5 stars.

To louisknight69 that is not the point at all its not that we dont trust our wife it has nothing to do with her at all where trust is concerned its about the men who is bidding on her its also about the fact of the wife betraying her husband if she refuses to see and understand why he said no and keeps pushing and pushing she is showing what her husband thinks means nothing its all about her and its also about her friend pushing and pushing for to do it not being a true friend basically trying to come between the husband and wife for what ever reason if wife does that it's a type of betrayal that's what it's about has nothing to do with trusting her or not a real man would have said no and stuck to it regardless which would have created a new set of problems cause then the wife would just do it anyway to more address trust as you say some men have damn good reason not to trust women just like some women have damn good reason not to trust men take me for example it took me a long time before I trusted another woman and that woman i trust is my wife she knew why I didn't trust women yet she stuck around and earned my trust my wife wouldn't have done what the wife in this story did she wouldn't have kept pushing and pushing once she found out why I was against it the wife in this story would have fucked her date if he was a gentleman that is a 100 percent guarantee that is why she kept pushing and pushing the husband got lucky that a asshole won her the so called friend was in on it only reason why she called the husband is cause the guy was a asshole and she was trying to take her self out of the situation so fingers cant be pointed at her for causing the end of a marriage in the end the husband just showed hes not a man but a pussy ass bitch which means she is going to cheat on him that is also a guarantee for when a woman agrees to marry a man they want a man not some pussy and not some cuck bitch if that is what she gets she will fuck another man cause he isn't a real man

Ok it sucked what happened to her but in away she is correct about being her fault she just kept pushing and pushing all because she wanted to listen to her so called best friend who clearly showed she didn't have her best interest at heart if she was truly a loving wife she would have understood her husband concern and left it alone when he said no and explained why and if her friend was truly a friend she would have told her that she should try and understand what her husband was saying and leave it at that not keep pushing her to do it a true friend wouldn't have done that she would have never tried to come between her friend and her friends husband its simple this Emily chick did it and fucked some dude and she wanted her friend to do it with her The husband in this should do a trail separation for in a way she disrespected him and he should also tell if she wanted any chance of saving the marriage she will drop that Emily chick like a bat out of hell for she's not a true friend she's just a slut looking to break up her friends marriage

An auction (supposedly for charity, sure, but whatever) where you bid to get a date with a woman. Shit man I'm a guy and even I'm offended by that. I can only imagine how loud the feminists would scream at this. Of course something has to go wrong.

Thank goodness she didn't get raped in the end. Had to actually skip to the comments before I read past the first page. I just can't read stories when I know there's going to be a rape. It's just too sickening.

I'd like to see the story about when she went on that 1-week training seminar and she becomes the loving wife this category is accustomed to. Hehe just kidding, I'm sure she would never cheat... Probably.

I lost my mom to cancer, it runs in her family. I liked the outcome and the fact that the original charity was a scam. Very good story.

I read these stories for enjoyment, not to critique. That said, I enjoyed the story. There were a few errors, but these stories aren't written with the hopes a winning great accolades. Lighten up folks.

Why are some comments blaming Bob? The husband initiated the conversation with Bob in which Bob mentioned the idea of a safe bidder. Common sense would have had the husband ask Jack (the safe bidder) what he could afford or wanted to donate. Then the husband would assure him he could bid whatever the husband would contribute to win the bid. As it was, Jack offered $1300 more than the previous year's highest bid. Don't blame Jack or Bob. They were lucky the villain drugged so Emmy saw it. He could have done it at a restaurant and no one would have known.

Unless I am mistaken, Marcy became Marge for a while, early on. A few more unforced errors took the five stars down to four. Still a pretty good tale.

There are a lot of men commenting, who do not trust their wives. Did they never go on a date without hoping it would end in sex? Maybe extreme feminists are correct and most men are pigs. None of these guys could be trusted to live next door; they might attack your wife when you left for work. By the same token, they think all women are sluts. Pity they have so little trust in their wives as to think having dinner always is a prelude to sex.

The auction idea was good, but its details were flawed. 1) Husbands would be allowed at the auction. 2) The auction would be for a dining companion, not a dinner date. 3) Dinner would be at the banquet hall where the auction was held. IRL, Bidders are there to donate to the charity. Those who are outbid usually write checks to donate anyway. Married or single women can be auctioned for the dinner and conversation. Any exchange of phone numbers, etc. is not charity connected. It is like a business luncheon or dinner but the conversation has the charity as the centerpiece instead of a sale or a contract.

It was a good story with a fairy tale ending. Nothing wrong with that.

Just a few things to start with 1 she should have never pushed her husband the way she did to do that event 2 to start with it was more like Emmy didn't have her best interest at heart i get it turned out she did but it didn't sound like it to start with for it was her that kept pushing the wife to keep pushing her husband to let her do it that's not something a true friend would do she would have brought it up but she would have made it clear not to push her husband to much if he says no then that's it let it go because its not worth your marriage but this friend didn't do that she kept pushing her friend and allowing and condoning her friend to keep pushing and bugging her husband even going as far talking her friend into ambushing her husband about it still its the writers lack of writing and detail for that not her not being a true friend cause she was now too address the part of the story about that being only for singles that is not true at all married people can do it as well but they have to sign a agreement form that basically says there fine with it and cant come after them if something goes wrong also to address the part where bob said he thinks they only just check to see if your check will bounce or not should have thrown up a big red flag for the husband yet it didn't so in a slight way if anyone is to blame for his wife attack and near rape its the husband for not seeing the red flag that should have been so big and bright a blind man could have seen it cause any kind of event like that would do and run so many back ground checks its not even funny if they were a legit Charity event that held those types of auctions and yes there is quite a few that does hold those types of auctions in real life however with the exception of the few things I just said it wasn't that bad of a story if more details were given on the few things I talked about it could have been better to the writer remember its the details given in these types of stories that make or break it

Bad. Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.

Better vetting of charity organization, better organizing of bidding process, after what the obsessive motivation was for pimping out the wife for the charity 'meat' auction. Why did she twist the arm and 'bribe' her husband, when he said "No", and tried to offer other safe options for said charity?
