I only read the first dozen paragraphs or so before giving it up as hopeless.

You seem to switch back and forth between past and present tense every sentence or two - sometimes within one sentence!

Please do yourself (and your readers!) a favor and find an editor who can help you with this and other grammar issues in your writing.
