Hmm, I just think the story is taken away from by these silly interludes. And silk clothes in the medieval ages? Anyhow, it is cute...but cute doesn't better this good tale you have going. I mean, overall,being tricked by a guy who wants to sell you as slaves is pretty realistic given the environment but...

I also think they wouldn't have taken a big wagon that isn't going to do anything but slow them down. And do they still have the map?

I'll still keep reading, but try to keep on the realistic/somewhat serious side would be my advice.
