I'm flattered that I could make you like Dima enough to feel betrayed by his most sadistic moments. This story actually has roots in reality for I met a Russian Estonian man in Helsinki the summer before I started high school. The jacket scene on the hillside, the ilus, the holding hands in the art nouveau district all happened. Back then though I had yet to start studying Russian and spoke none so we had to rely completely for my friend and Dima’s cousin to translate for us. Sadly as I was still living with my parents at that time and he was staying with his cousin's family during his visit, we never had a place to be alone together and never got the chance to get beyond kisses and holding hands. I turned 16 during the summer so I wouldn’t even have been jailbait xD Writing a more satisfactory ending to our summer fling was a way to find closure for the whole thing - now I at least can imagine that we lived those few months to the fullest.

I absolutely am enamored with your writing skills. I was amazed at how turned on I could be at one moment, and in the next feel hurt/used/betrayed just like she did. You took me to my limit and then pushed me beyond it, without making me want to turn away. My heart ached for her as she finally broke, when he'd pushed her too far (which, might I say, I love the realism of you including that.). And to my amazement, my heart ached for Dima as he sought her forgiveness after seeing that he had gone much too far! I am just beside myself after reading this. You are truly gifted in taking the emotions of your audience and molding them in your hands.
