Yes!

Stolen Birthright had been my favorite of your stories but this is giving it a run for it's money. Really loving this, thank you!

Wow just bloody Wow!

My mind and emotional health has been blown apart by these chapters!!

I hope the Alpha dies and Carson takes over as he seems to be level headed and more grounded. I hope the baby lives and gets to grow up healthy. When DeWalt nearly got raped again my heart was on my throat I couldn't put my phone down during that whole scene.

You're an amazing writer Partwolf and I (as others do) look forward to the next chapters

I have

Tried to leave a comment on wattpad for you but it won't let me and I can't figure out how too. So without any spoilers for the readers here since it's a little ahead of the lit chapters, I have to say that I can't wait for the eradication of the species in this story. The male wolves are killing off the females by getting them pregnant and know it and the Alfa has already picked a mated female ( Jessica ) for his next Luna or as I call them "victim". The weres here show no redeeming qualities ( at least the males ) so extinction seems required and preferable. I'm not going to say more because other thoughts and irritations come from later chapters already posted elsewhere. mikecfl.

oddball

we have met the enemy and he is us. looks like I was right to be paranoid with the comment I made in chapter 1. he found out about the calls, where she was, and set a trap using her friend. These people are so stupid they don't realize the best thing they could do is not take unmated females as mate. no mates means no heat cycle, no pregnancy means they won't die, but they are so freaking idiotic that instead of slowing down the problem they are speeding it up.

OddBall68OddBall68about 6 years ago

Anon,

True, there is always 69ing or door number 2 if they can control themselves. lol They need a real doll Were edition. LOL

The knowledge in that alpha's hands won't turn out well. He cannot separate himself from his need to control, to breed and to gain power.

oddball look up placental abruption.....looks like it really causes problems with were.

OddBall68OddBall68about 6 years ago

That is a 1 in 200 occurrence, with only 24% of those being severe, but with the Weres in this story it's severe every pregnancy and only one infant making it past delivery. Environmental cause is unlikely considering it's everywhere. Same with trauma. I'm sure even if all their mates are knocking boots vigorously it wouldn't somehow just happen to everyone when it didn't before in their history. Genetic abnormalities could possibly be it, but again, for what reason in every case? It also doesn't fit the listed causes of alcohol, tobacco and cocaine.

You really want to give me a headache again. There are too many new terms to learn with correspondingly long definitions and symptoms of their own. UGH She needs her own lab and a medical Were team to properly run tests to narrow down the most likely causes in future cases. She has supposedly gone through all the medical journals in search of a cause/cure and found nothing.

Placental Abruption doesn't seem to talk of the rapid cellular decay described in the beginning of the story.

WRITE A BOOK! This is honestly the best story I have ever read on lit. You should write a freaking book!

Dear PartWolf

Thank you for your work in coming up with this story. I plan to read your other stories after I finish this one. As a reader I’m wish I offer you my continuing thoughts on these new chapters and I’m going to asking questions. Not in the hope of you directly answering, but in letting you know what I think is happening and the possibilities I see. I do hope it matches your expectations for what you want the readers to see. If not, then I hope it gives you ideas.

1. I’ve been thinking more on the premise of the story, that the werewolf species is facing extinction in the form of a severe type of miscarriage. I am definitely leaning towards a virus or something similar that has crossed from either humans or some other animal like the bird flu crossed to humans some years back. However, this being a fantasy story, I cannot help but wonder if this may also be some sort of punishment or culling of th species by their deity, Luna. I had to look that up. But either way, how do you plan to overcome this problem? Is this the telling of the last days of the werewolf? Is this the beginning of a new species of werewolf?

2. This had me thinking about how werewolf society is established. It seems to me that in this telling, it follows the general rules that I have found on the genre. But when I consider the possibility of a culling, I wonder if it’s because of the arrogance of the alphas, not finding their true mates, and the lack of balance between their wolf and human sides. Is there a deity aspect in this story? Not one that has been shown, but it is a fantasy story.

3. Is Vivian going to find a treatment for this problem? Now that there’s a surging pup, will she be able to glean some knowledge from this birth? Now that the alpha’s mate has died in childbirth, will he become even more wild/crazy? Become irrationally violent and order an all out attack even knowing what the consequences are?

4. What does it take to be an alpha? If Snake were to become a werewolf, would he have the “right stuff”? Alpha Clark’s only quality seems to be his over aggressive dominant personality. He doesn’t think so much as attack anyone in his way. Snake however, displays a clam thinking aspect, caring thoughtfulness, aggressive qualities, and the ability to not let things throw he off kilter. So again, what does it take to be an Alpha?

5. What would happen if the werewolves were discovered? Because it seems to still be a big possibility with you he way things are going that as the females die off, the males become more aggressive and off balance. I see them making more mistakes. And at some point, there will be a body that is not disposed of or some other evidence that they exist left out there.

6. You have a great drama going in the character dynamics here. I would like to see more in the way of the club members but that’s just me. How large is this club? What would happen if Clark was to grab some of the children? I’m thinking of the war to come here. Clark’s crazy, but he is still a crafty bastard. The club has resources, but they too have to watch out for law enforcement. They can’t just flat out retaliate without taking some serious precautions. And at some point they are going to have to relocate if they are attacked. I mean if something happens at the club house, the cops will investigate and they can just say, ”oh it was werewolves!”.

So that’s what I have so far. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this story.

Thank you again,

JAFCritic

I suppose we can solve this by asking partwolf if this is based off a real issue or is just made up

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
About the spontaneous abortion

It is a real medical issue along with a host of other female problems. However I think it’s only used here as a poor device

AnonymousAnonymousabout 6 years ago
sigh

i know it's real. I've been clicking and reading links for hours since i had nothing else to do. i think there might have a solution to the problem, but i'm not 100% sure if it would work.

Partwolf is it possible to put a werewolf embryo inside of a human and have it survive? it would mean them having to come out into the open about their existence, but with the way things stand they're already as good as extinct.

OddBall68OddBall68about 6 years ago

Anon(s),

Well we are dealing with a 'story' but he does tend to not have fantasy go off the deep end.

The surrogate birth mother idea would require compatible dna or I think you would also be constantly suppressing the host's immune system. Just that condition might result in the same end for mother and child as has happened with a Were mother,

JAFCritic,

Wow.

1 - I doubt he's going to pop up with active deity involvement. Is it the last days of the Werewolf or birth of a new version? We aren't going to find out those answers till the end.

2 - Other than just a general Luna reference in stating the ways of mates in this story there hasn't been much on their deity. I think a sudden miraculous moon goddess appearance would be too easy a reason.

3 - You'll have to wait and see on all those questions. One question could be answered. The others, not at this time. You'll have to see.

4 - He's already stated there is no possibility of turns in this story. Pure power and dominance are the requirements for a Were to be an alpha.

5 - Discovery could also be used as a MAD device or as a a wrath of Kahn with my last breath I spit at thee sort of thing.

6 - More things to wait and see. Your thoughts are past anything that has been written so far.

Hopefully there is a huge chapter to catch up with where the story actually is at this point. It's a bumpy ride.

Thank you for your thoughts. I’ve enjoyed reading your comments on these chapters and have agreed with you on them. My points are really for the author to think about. Maybe they will give him some ideas he has not already thought about. So I tried to think ahead and framed my questions that way. But it is fun to imagine what could be next.

Thanks

JAFCritic,

I know. Predicting things can be enjoyable. I saw a plot twist before he revealed it on wattpad. I hadn't been able to connect to that site in months. Found i could now and have read ahead over there. You may want to take a look. Catch up to where he has the story now and then make your comments over there. I can't see any of those conversations but I know he and the readers are talking there.

You guys have been busy!

Lots of good discussion in the comments. More will be revealed soon, I just submitted chapters 24-28. I apologize for the delays, but I never know if a chapter will be held up in review for two days or eight.

I haven't said what the cause is, for my own reasons. You do know that Vivian couldn't figure out why it was happening, nor could the other doctors. It is something that doesn't happen with humans.

When I started the story, I needed a way to cause all the females to die. I thought to myself, what is the cruelest, most terrible way to do this? Having them die just before their babies can live, their mates knowing that they did this to them, their own instincts preventing them from doing the obvious things (like abstinence or abortion early on). The let the chips fall.

You'll like the next chapter. If you can't wait, the story is also posted on Wattpad under user Part2Wolf, I've been updating almost daily there.

Ok, I just got a laugh.

I've shared the story with someone and they just had a forth wall break sorta thought. I may be using that term wrong because Deadpool is my reference material. lol

She said she figured out what's killing all the women. Partwolf. So there we have it. He is the Were scourge. It's time to stamp out the problem. Grab your hammers everyone, It's Hammer Time! LOL *eg* (just a joke)

And the story goes on. I have a grandson, he's 23 now, that was 1 pound 4 ounces when he was delivered. As it was, he was fortunate enough to in one of the best neonatal departments in the city. Can't imagine doing this in a converted animal hospital. There was a problem with him being on pure oxygen, something do do with the eyes, but some laser surgery took care of things for him. Still a bit smaller than others his age, but doing well. Love the story and especially the take down of the Alpha.
