Click hereLong minutes later, as we were cuddling, Laura said "So you're still on this case of this football player?"
"For now." I said. "I'm afraid that the politics are going to get ugly, though, since he's on the football team. I'm hoping that it's some kind of natural causes or accident and we can find out what happened and close the case, but..." I paused, thinking.
"But...?" Laura queried, to make me finish.
"But I don't think it's that simple." I said. "And I think this kid was murdered."
To be continued...
Yes, it's complicated and a long set of stories but I'm giving it a go and see the writer developing as the storyline progresses. Not a good memory so cannot remember all the details but, on balance, enjoying the journey so far
After reading this series, I went back to the beginning, Where Don and Melanie, and Laura first appear. In this series, Don is described, as having gone on active duty, after ROTC, then becoming a cop. In the original series, as well as the next part Interludes, he gets some sort of IT job straight out of college, gets hired by the campus police, and goes to the Police Academy at age 28.
In this series, Don is some sort of tough guy. In the original series, he's a candy ass wimp, and a willing cuck. I can understand, the author changing the story line, to toughen him up a bit. Even so, the author failed to fill in the gap of his missing years of active duty as an ROTC commissioned Army Officer. Totally inconsistent character development.
Years ago there was a TV show, about Vampires, who are out in the open. A football player dies while having sex with a female vampire. The Vampires worry how to spin this, so it won't be a PR disaster for them. I forget the name of the series.
